Description:

With commissioning of the new plant, the existing old one has been shut down. The maximum capacity of the new WTP Horgen amounts to 1,200 m³/h. Thereby the communities of Horgen, Oberrieden, Richterswil and Wädenswil, which are incorporated as the Association of Hirsacker-Appital, can be supplied. The plant is strictly separated in two independent treatment lines. The biggest challenge for treatment design was to meet the requested minimum operational flow rate of 14 %. Produced drinking water exceeds the Swiss drinking water standards.
