Description:

  • Municipal wastewater treatment plant for Putrajaya, the new federal administrative centre of Malaysia. The plant has been built on a footprint size of only 100m x 94m having a population equivalent of 300,000 and treating a DWF 67,500 m3/d (peak flow 156,000 m3/d). The scope of WABAG included:
    • Process and detail design
    • Civil, mechanical and electrical installation
    • Commissioning
    • Control automation and SCADA systems
    • Operation and maintenance for 6 months.

Technology:

  • Inlet pumping station
  • Mechanical pre-treatment: Coarse and fine screens, grit channels
  • Activated sludge treatment
  • Final sedimentation tanks
  • Sludge dewatering followed by thermal drying (3 tonnes/hr)
  • Odour control by bio-scrubber
